It’s very difficult to capture the perfect shot of this little guy. You know the age… almost two. I asked him to pick a cone off the tree and love this almost sunset picture.

I took my son outside to enjoy the sunshine and the brisk air and tried my very best to get a pose… it’s very tough at this age of almost two though every milestone we reach I am always saying, “I love this age the best. I love that age the best.” I obviously cannot make up my mind!
I was teaching him to say, “Pine cone” today. Here he is pointing to one on our tree.
I have been looking forward to photographing my first newborn, and though it didn’t go exactly the way I would have thought, there are still some sweet pictures that were captured. One thing is for sure, a newborn session done correctly, will take a lot longer than other ages. Baby I wasn’t sleepy at all and stayed awake almost the entire time! I would have liked to have captured more shots of the family and other ideas I had, but time ran short. Maybe next time I’ll get a sleepy baby!
Lucas was in his prime on Christmas Eve literally dragging out every toy he received and posing in front of the tree with my new AB800 and large softbox. I have a studio setup now! I am so excited about the pictures I’ll be taking in the future! I had to find the “perfect southern outfit” for the little guy, against his Dada’s wishes (he looks like a girl!), and “Little toddler boys should still look like babies and not miniature men.” I was definitely out of my element at the baby store at The Factory in Franklin. Lucas seemed to like it (yeah, right
) I love the contrast between the big boy four wheeler and the outfit!
What a beautiful mother-to-be… I can only hope to look as good this far along. M is expecting her second girl at the beginning of 2010, and I cannot WAIT to do my first newborn photoshoot. I’ve been getting ready with studio lights, etc… and really am probably more excited about this photoshoot coming up than any other.

Loving the red contrast… and the glow that M has!
I absolutely had to share possible one of my favorite shots of my son. We had a blast in this little clearing near a very colorful treeline on Wednesday. Although his hair is flying everywhere (what mother wants to have their baby’s hair cut before he’s two?) I still LOVE LOVE this picture. Just wanted to share!

I met up with a good friend of mine to photograph her triplets + 1! What a great time we had hanging out and playing with the kids… ended the session on the trampoline with my son trying his hand at running around rather than jumping. Here are some pictures I took during on of the last warm days of the season for a Christmas card. Thanks for the opportunity B!

I met up with a friend and her son who I haven’t seen since he was young. I really believe he could be a model! Here’s a few pictures from our session and ending last with one of P and his girlfriend. I had a great time and hope to get together again soon!

Every now and then I get the opportunity to shoot a session and this one was a very laid back “we’re going to meet at Walden Farms” and just have fun. The weather was perfect, the light perfect, and I really enjoyed all the color — even the peeks of fall finally showing up. Little Miss E. having fun and was much easier to photograph than my own son who was running circles around us all!
Notice the little coy but sweet look she has in the second one? I love this photo…

And these… I love love the effect of the second one… corn rows and the beautiful light spilling all around her.

Look at me! I’m 18 months old and can lift a pumpkin all by myself!

And just for a minute… my son slowed down enough to play with Miss E. We put them in their Halloween costumes and for a good few seconds they just stared at one another, then all of a sudden, Miss E. turns around and smiles really big!

My son, pictured below, is changing and growing every day. I will have to say I am simply amazed at how much he has learned in the past several months! He loves to get in the bathtub and squirt us with his little toys. Of course in the beginning we would squeal with delight, but now I find myself trying to dodge his accurate aim! It’s amazing really…
